Make your first shot count.
Learn power versus accuracy, wind compensation, spin and safe routes in GolfMio.
1. Choose a landing area
Tap the course to aim. The guide includes spin and bounce but excludes wind. On a dogleg, aim for the elbow before attacking the green. Open the hole guide to see hazards and a suggested route.
2. Power controls distance
Select Take shot and pull the ball to the power ring for 100% power. A shorter pull reduces distance; extra pull adds power and makes the moving needle faster. The power slider and Space key offer an alternative.
3. Timing controls accuracy
Release when the needle reaches the centre. Perfect describes the timing, not maximum power. Off-centre releases create hook or slice. Use the shot review to understand the actual outcome.
4. Plan for wind and roll
Aim against the wind. Topspin adds roll; backspin helps stop sooner. Uphill ground meets the ball sooner and downhill landings may run farther. The putting green selects your putter automatically.
5. Recover, then finish
Trees can block flight. Rough and sand require recovery clubs. Water adds a penalty and returns the ball to its previous position. Every hole has a 12-stroke cap; full competitions use 18 holes. Daily and three-hole challenges use matched equipment.
